How to create a project from an approved budget proposal

Create a new project in one click from a budget proposal in Quotes → Budgets → Proposals. The proposal must be saved as Final.

Once your budget proposal is ready, you can create a new project directly from it. Allfred pre-fills the project details and automatically assigns the proposal to the project as its budget. Approval by your team or the client is recommended but not required. The proposal must be saved as Final, though, because a draft can’t be used as a project budget.

How to create a project from a proposal

  1. Go to the Quotes section, open the Budgets tab and select Proposals.

  2. Find the proposal and hover over its row. Click the + Project button that appears.

  3. Allfred automatically pre-fills the brand and project name based on the proposal.

  4. Add the remaining details, such as end date, project category, billing category, responsible managers or client access.

  5. Click Create project. Allfred assigns the proposal to the project as its budget and creates the project structure accordingly.

⚠️ Only proposals saved as Final can be turned into a project. If you don’t see the + Project button when you hover over the row, the proposal is still a draft. Open it, save it as Final, and the button will appear.

FAQ

I created a project from a proposal, but I can’t see any budget items in it. Why?
Most likely the proposal was saved as a draft. Open it, save it as Final and make sure it’s assigned to the project.

Why don’t I see the + Project button next to my proposal?
The proposal is saved as a draft. Only final budgets can be assigned to a project. Open the proposal, save it as Final and try again.
