How to change the color of your allocations in Planning

Allocation color in Planning follows the creator's profile color. Learn how to change your color and what the color tells you.

Written by Allfred Support

The color of an allocation in Planning is determined by the profile color of the person who created it (the creator), not by the person the allocation is planned for. For example, if you create allocations for your team and your profile color is green, all those allocations will be green.

How to change your profile color

  1. Click your profile icon and select My Profile.

  2. Open the Planning & Utilization tab.

  3. Click Color and choose a new color.

  4. Click Update.

All allocations you have created, and all allocations you create from now on, will appear in your new color.

💡 Admins can also change the color of other users. See How to change the plannable time (daily capacity) and colour for a specific user.

⚠️ Allfred doesn't check whether another user already has the same color. To tell allocations apart easily, agree on distinct colors within your team.

Changing the creator of an allocation

Because the color follows the creator, changing the Created by field in an allocation also changes its color. This is useful, for example, when you go on vacation and want your team to know which colleague to contact about the assignment.

FAQ

Can allocations be colored by client or project?
No. Allocation color always follows the creator's profile color. To see allocations for a specific client, use the Client / Brand filter in Planning.

Can I see only allocations created by a specific person?
Yes. Use the Creator filter in Planning. Only allocations in that person's color will be shown.

Can I change how strong the allocation colors are?
The color style (Light, Solid or White) is set for the whole workspace by an Admin in Planning and Utilization settings.
