How to connect Allfred to Claude, ChatGPT or other AI assistants (MCP connector)

Connect Allfred to Claude, ChatGPT or another MCP client and work with projects, tasks, Planning and finances from a chat.

Written by Alexandra Gallisová

With the MCP connector, you can connect Allfred to Claude, ChatGPT or any other MCP client and work with your projects, tasks, Planning, time entries and financial data directly from a chat. The connection runs under your own Allfred account, so the AI assistant can see and do only what you can see and do in Allfred. Nothing more.

How to connect

  1. In Allfred, click your profile icon in the top right corner → My profile → MCP integration.

  2. In your MCP client, add a custom connector with this URL: https://mcp.allfred.io/mcp
In Claude, go to Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.

  3. Your MCP client opens an Allfred page and shows you a pairing code.

  4. Go back to Allfred, paste the code into the Enter pairing code field and click Confirm.

  5. Return to the screen your MCP client opened and click Check & Authorize. That’s it, the connector is live.

⚠️ The connector uses your own permissions. If you don’t have access to a project, budget or financial data in Allfred, the AI assistant won’t have access to it either.

What you can use it for

Here are a few examples of what you can ask your AI assistant to do in Allfred:

  • Take a meeting transcript and create tasks from it, assign people and plan them in Planning

  • Create new clients, brands and projects

  • Prepare basic financial reporting and forecasts

  • Pull utilization data into a clear overview

Example: From a meeting to a planned project

If you also have a meeting recorder (for example, Fireflies) connected to your AI assistant, you can ask:

“Check my last meeting recording in Fireflies. Based on it, create a client, a brand, a project and tasks in Allfred, with descriptions and assigned people. Create allocations in Planning.”

The assistant then creates the client, brand and project, adds tasks with descriptions and assignees, and creates capacity allocations for them in Planning.

💡 Always be specific about where the data should come from. Some numbers in Allfred can be calculated from different sources (for example, utilization), so telling the assistant exactly which data to use gives you more accurate results.

What the connector covers today

The connector covers the everyday building blocks of Allfred: clients, brands, projects, tasks, Planning, time tracking and finance data. It is currently focused mainly on project managers and everyday Allfred users. Your AI assistant can read data from all of these areas and, for most of them, also create or update records. As always, it works only within your own permissions.

What your AI assistant can read

  • Your account and workspace: who you are, which workspaces you have access to, workspace settings, team members and legal entities.

  • Clients and brands: the list of your clients and brands and the details of each one.

  • Projects: he list of projects and the details of each one, including the project budget overview (budget items for our work and expenses, with spent, remaining and profit), project categories and project positions.

  • Tasks: the list of tasks, the details of each task and the available task statuses.

  • Planning: the Planning overview and individual capacity allocations, so it can tell who is planned on what and when.

  • Time tracking: time entries and the available time off types.

  • Finances: invoices, proforma invoices, requests for invoicing, expenses, planned expenses, and credit accounts including a summary.

What your AI assistant can create and change

  • Clients and brands: create new ones and update existing ones.

  • Projects: create new projects and update existing ones.

  • Tasks: create new tasks and update existing ones.

  • Planning: create, update and delete capacity allocations.

  • Time tracking: log time.

⚠️ Changes are saved to your Allfred workspace immediately, just as if you made them yourself. Review what you ask your AI assistant to do, especially when it creates or changes many records at once.

What it can’t do yet

  • Finance data is read-only. Your AI assistant can read invoices, proforma invoices, requests for invoicing and expenses, but it can’t create or change them.

  • Nothing can be deleted except capacity allocations in Planning. Clients, brands, projects, tasks and finance data can’t be deleted through the connector.

  • It can’t manage users or change workspace settings. It can only read them.

The capabilities of the connector will keep expanding in the future, especially in areas like budgets, finances, invoicing plans and reporting.

FAQ

Can the AI assistant see more than I can see in Allfred?
No. The connector runs under your own account, so it has exactly the same access and permissions as you.

Which AI assistants can I connect?
Any client that supports MCP custom connectors, for example Claude or ChatGPT.

Does every team member need to connect their own account?
Yes. Each connection is tied to the user who set it up, so every team member who wants to use it connects it from their own profile.

Can I work with budgets and invoicing plans through the connector?
Partly. Your AI assistant can read project budget overview (budget items for our work and expenses, with spent, remaining and profit), invoices, proforma invoices, requests for invoicing and expenses, for example to prepare reports and forecasts. It can’t create or change them yet. Support for budgets, finances, invoicing plans and reporting will be expanded in the future.

Can the AI assistant delete data in Allfred?
Only capacity allocations in Planning. Clients, brands, projects, tasks and finance data can’t be deleted through the connector.
